Database Developer

LOCATION: Naples, FL
REFERENCE: 2012-ENG-503
TYPE OF POSITION: Full Time

The DATABASE DEVELOPER is a JAVA programmer who specializes in database access and performance across a variety of relational databases. You will work with members of multiple project teams, providing direction for and developing features that access the relational databases used by Fischer’s line of leading-edge identity management solutions. We are seeking an individual who enjoys being challenged, has a desire to work with new technologies, and the motivation to learn all aspects of the Fischer Identity Suite™. .

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and develop product capabilities and solutions that access relational databases using Java/J2EE and JDBC
  • Design database schema across multiple databases including Oracle, MSSQL, and PostGreSQL
  • Develop database triggers and stored procedures
  • Design and develop SQLs, DML, DDLs with scalability and performance
  • Review, refine, and improve performance using techniques such as Prepared Statements and indexing
  • Provide direction and support for relational database issues to members of all project teams.
  • Implement, support, and upgrade product configuration across multiple releases

EDUCATION and TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science
  • 2+ years experience in Java J2EE and JDBC access to relational databases
  • 2+ years experience in designing database schemas, SQL, DML, and DDL
  • Must be conversant with large data retrieval, scalability, paging, and traversing large result sets
  • Locale awareness and experience with foreign language data issues including multi-byte support would be a plus
  • Experience with large application suites ( PeopleSoft, SAP, Oracle, Datatel, Banner) would be a plus
